About this tool

How the Risk / Reward Ratio Calculator works

Formula

R:R = |reward_distance| / |risk_distance|, where risk = |entry - stop_loss| and reward = |entry - target|

Example

EURUSD BUY at 1.0850, SL at 1.0800 (50 pips risk), TP at 1.0950 (100 pips reward): R:R = 2.0

Inputs & units

Direction (BUY/SELL), entry price, stop loss, and one or more take-profit targets. Returns risk/reward ratio, r-multiple, and per-unit distances.

Supported formulas

Risk/reward mode only. Supports up to 10 take-profit targets simultaneously.

Limitations

Price-only calculation. Account size, position size, spread, fees, slippage, swap, and leverage are excluded.

Metadata source

Per-unit distances use tick/pip/point sizes from the instrument database when available.

Frequently asked questions

01

How is the risk/reward ratio calculated?

The calculator measures the distance from entry to stop loss (risk) and from entry to take profit (reward), then returns the ratio. It works for both BUY and SELL setups.

02

Can I check multiple take-profit targets?

Yes. The tool returns a ratio for each target level you provide.
